Making sure you have the appropriate supplies to accommodate other forms of transportation like bicycles is a difficult task. To gauge the need for a bike rack in your facility make sure you evaluate a few things beforehand.
- Demand – Are people using your facility riding their bikes and don’t have a place to park? Would they be riding their bikes if they had a place to park them?
- Weather – Do you live in a temperate area where it would make sense for people to bike to work?
- Rural / Urban – Do people that use your facility live close or far away?
- Space – Do you have the space for a bike rack, preferably under an overhang?
After you’ve decided you need a bike rack, you should dive deeper into the demand and space considerations to decide which bike rack is for you. If you have limited demand and a small amount of space, then a simple bike dock might be appropriate. If you have larger demand and a bit more space, a grid bike rack might be more appropriate.
